OEGS vs. King’s Canterbury 29th June 2025

A team of 12 OEs assembled on Sunday, 29th June, under the leadership of Joel Pearce, to take on King’s Canterbury at Rye GC.  It was a great day for golf with temperatures around 26 degrees and minimal wind and the course, as usual at Rye, played very true, with quick fairways and greens.

It was particularly good to have Toby Lock, Oli Chatterton and Chris Howe playing alongside the more “usual suspects” in OEGS golf teams.  And many thanks to Joel for organising.

The OE team faced down the opposition with grace and camaraderie, making for a memorable day. At lunch we lead by 5 matches to one thus earning our hearty roast and claret before heading back out for the afternoon round. Overall victory was then secured prior to a well earned drink on the terrace in the beautiful English sunshine before heading home.

A big thank you to all who played, and the staff at Rye GC for making it such an enjoyable day.
