OEGS Autumn Golf Day at Cooden Beach – 13th September 2026

The Old Eastbournian Golf Society enjoyed another excellent autumn day’s golf at Cooden Beach Golf Club with 16 of our members playing an individual Stableford competition.  The golf followed breakfast in the clubhouse and the weather was kind to us with the rain just holding off.  The course was in good condition considering the very dry summer that we have experienced.

The scoring at the top could hardly have been closer. Peter Henley and Jay Lorton both came in with 38 points and Ian Sands with 37.  On countback over the final 3 holes, Peter emerged victorious.  He (of quite a high handicap) scored 9 points over those 3 holes despite scoring none on the 16th hole !!

Alex Photiou was nearest the pin on the 16th and Jono Winchester won the prize for the longest drive.

So, congratulations to Peter, Jay and Ian on their excellent performances, thanks to everyone who played, and thanks to Cooden Beach Golf Club.  We intend to return in 2027.
