Another in our long running series of matches vs. King’s Canterbury at Rye GC.  And, I am very pleased to report, another victory for the OEGS.  We play foursomes off handicap and at lunch it was level at 3 matches all thanks to wins by Joel Pearce / Bill Riddick, Chris Walker / Ben Burrows and David Dunn / Iryna Photiou.  The overall result depended on the last match on the course involving David Barwell / Joel Pearce.  Whilst Ben Stokes tried to save the second Ashes Test, our heroic pair battled back from 5 down after 10 holes to win by the narrowest of margins, 1 up.  So overall it was 6.5 to 5.5 matches in favour of the OEGS.  Wonderful !!  And thanks to Chris Stephenson for organising and great to have some our younger players out, namely Joel, Bill and Alex Photiou.
