There are still places available for members to participate in this year’s popular OEGS Singles Knockout Competition and we have therefore extended the deadline to 5 April for members to sign up. The early rounds are played on a regional basis on a date and course to be decided between the two players. The semi-finals and final will be played at Rye GC on Saturday 26 October for the Richard Day Trophy.

Harry Rimmer said: “Not only is the Richard Day event an extremely good cause, it is also an excellent opportunity to meet fellow OE golfers and play new courses. It’s a very friendly atmosphere but also a good chance to challenge your matchplay mettle. Making the finals and meeting Richard’s wonderful family was a highlight. It’s always a delight to play at Rye, even in tricky conditions, and it was particularly enjoyable to play against Richard Gourlay and David Barwell in the finals who are both real competitors and proper gentlemen. I would encourage all OE golfers to get involved.”
