As in its 2 previous years, we gathered for the semi-finals and final of the 2024 Richard Day Knockout at Rye GC, the 4 competitors all getting a free day’s golf and excellent lunch.

Chris Stephenson acted as our host and it was wonderful also to have Louise and Claire Day along for lunch.

Both semi-finals went right through to the 18^th green: Harry Rimmer (giving 7 shots) beating Tony Dunn 1up and Tony Riddick (receiving 9 shots) beating Jack King by the same margin.

In the final, Harry (giving 9 shots to Tony) turned 4 up but was then brought back to only 1 up after the 14^th.  Holes 15 and 16 were halved but Harry emerged victorious by 2&1 thanks to a birdie 2 at the very demanding 17^th.

Harry also won in 2023 so many congratulations to him on a successful defense of his title.  And thanks to all those who took part in the competition over the summer.  We plan to repeat the event in 2025 but would like to see more entries, up to a first round of 32 players.
