7 of us gathering at West Sussex GC to take on a similar number from Tonbridge.  Our usual match manager, Ben Burrows, was absent with Covid but I am very pleased to report that our team included 4 of our younger members: Will Buckland (the senior of the 4), Oliver May, Matteo Chu and Dominico Wright. The really senior players were Mark May, Tony Dunn and myself.

With quarter points being played for on the “byes”, we lunched 3.5 points to 1 down but then won the afternoon 3 to 1.25.  This meant that overall we went down by 4.75 to 4.  A good comeback but we still had to pick up the bill for the wine at lunch.

The course was in wonderful condition and as challenging as ever.  The youngsters seemed to have enjoyed it and hopefully they will spread the word about the OEGS and our activities to their friends.
